Sugar and Spice

Although the news has spread quickly for the most part, I figured I’d post the official announcement that the A Team is expecting a girl in September. The doctor confirmed that it is indeed a Miss Baby A and we couldn’t be happier. Staylee was making up songs about having a daughter and is so excited about his little princess-to-be. We have decided to name her Liliana Kelly. I almost feel a little bad about it—with a baby girl, me, and two female dogs, Staylee is definitely outnumbered. But he seems thrilled about it.

In other news, the baby and I are both doing fine. I feel her moving all the time, although Staylee hasn’t been able to feel it from the outside yet. The biggest thing is the heat, which makes me tired and cranky. Temperatures having been hitting 106 in our lovely little desert and some days I just stand in my office in front of the fan. I’m having some cramping in my back and legs, but that is supposed to be normal.

Mom is busy making nursery fixings—sheets, curtains, quilts, and other baby decor. We’re doing the nursery in a sort of rose pink with hot pink dots, and little green and yellow froggies. It sounds weird, but it is actually really cute. I am constantly amazed at the mad skills my mother possesses.

We do have pictures from the sonogram, but I feel that pictures of my daughter’s bathing suit area are not really meant to be displayed on the internet.
