Baby Anderson: The Journey

On October 5, 2006, God gave us the biggest blessing we could imagine: our daughter Liliana. So here is a place for our friends and family to keep up with her as she grows.

More Oklahoma!

Here she is playing on the coffee table. She loves standing. We are actually having trouble getting her to sit because all she wants to do is stand.

Here she is on Easter morning with her Easter basket. About 10 seconds after this picture she began chewing on the basket.
Posing with her new teething ring.
Walking outside with Daddy.

Saying goodbye to Papaw. Yes, that is a bunny hat she is wearing. In line at the airport the security guard announced that the Easter bunny was in line.

Oklahoma!

where the wind...well you know the rest. Liliana took her first plane trip to visit Papaw and Nana in Edmond. The next few posts will be pictures of that trip and her first Easter.

On the first plane waiting for take off. She was really good and didn't cry except when we were stuck on the runway in Dallas. It was like she was telling us, "Let's go!"

Getting ready to go shopping with Nana and Papaw.
Giving Nana snuggles.

We were there for Harlee's birthday, so we had a cake for her and some presents. While posing for this picture, Liliana reached out and grabbed a handfull of icing. You can actually see the little hand going for it. She wasn't sure what to do with the icing, so she mashed it in her hands. Luckily, we got her cleaned up before it went in her mouth.

6 months!

My baby doll is growing up so fast! Over the past weekend, she turned 6 months old, went on her first airplane trip, her first trip out of state, and celebrated her first Easter. She was an angel on the plane and everyone thought she was so cute (which she is). She was supposed to get her pictures taken last Thursday, but she wasn’t feeling well after her trip to the doctor to get her six month shots. She currently weighs 15 pounds, 2 ounces and is a little over 26 inches long. Dr. Reese thinks she looks great and is very healthy. So here are professional pictures we took on Monday. I have to say they are the cutest we have taken. And considering she was still unhappy after the trip to Oklahoma (she was tired and cranky and wanted to get back to her “job”) I’m surprised at how much we got her to smile. The first outfit is a Humphrey’s Corner dress that I just love. I have an addiction to those clothes, even though I can only order them through ebay from England. The second is her Easter dress her Mamaw bought for her. And the last one is a little watermelon suit Mom and I fell in love with along with her watermelon Robeez from her great-aunt Judy and great-uncle John. Enjoy!

Amazing...

It has been too long since I posted, but everything is so busy and I had trouble getting into the blog homepage. Liliana is growing and changing so much every day. She has found her feet, which now provide endless entertainment. She is very grabby and everything goes straight for her mouth. Last week she tried to pull Grandpa’s entire sandwich tray into her carrier. Luckily we caught it in time.

We took her to the puppy park with the dogs last night and she loved it. She thought Perid attacking the doggie drinking fountain was hilarious because she just kept laughing every time the dog would do it. She’s getting more and more into a routine. She has the things she does at my mom’s house everyday and we have our night time routine: we read two board books (if she’s not too fussy) and then say a family prayer. It’s such a sweet time of day, Staylee and I holding our daughter’s hand and thanking God for our blessings. It’s so amazing to watch her grow and change each day, to watch her discover the world a piece at a time. We are so blessed.

This is actually a big week for us: Liliana is turning 6-months old, she has her 6-month check up, 6-month pictures, and she is taking her first out of state trip on her first airplane to see Nana and Papaw in Oklahoma! We’re very excited, although I am nervous about flying with an infant, but I think I am prepared.

Other big news...Liliana is going to China! In June Grandpa, Mom, Liliana, and I are all going to China for two weeks. I’ll have more information on that trip in the coming weeks. I’ll try to post the 6-month update before we leave. If not, I’ll have that and a trip recap when we get back next week. In the meantime, here are a few pictures of our miracle.
