Two down, One to go

And so with scorching hot temperatures and little ado, Lilliana and I begin the third trimester. I now go to the doctor every two weeks. Last week, Grandpa took me so I could have my glucose and anemia tests. The glucose was not a problem, but I am heavily anemic, so they put me on prescription iron pills. The nurse actually said, “If you can stand the samples, we’ll write you a prescription.” Yikes. Turns out they aren’t bad. I’ve had a bit of headache, but otherwise nothing too terrible.

On the craving front, I constantly want peaches, Schlotzsky’s Mediterranean pizza, and hummus. I could live on those three staples and be quite happy. My feet and ankles are a little swollen, but nothing to worry about.

Lilliana is moving around like crazy. When they gave me the glucose test I had to drink this stuff that was basically pure sugar. It was like the baby was on a sugar high for the next hour. My stomach looked like an earthquake shaking and rolling. She is also fond of bouncing up and down on my bladder like one of those inflatable castles. TJ, my assistant, finds it funny that I’m fine one minute and the next I’m like, “I have to go to the bathroom...NOW.”

Leaps and bounds are being made with the nursery thanks to Mom’s tireless dedication. She has made the most beautiful sheets, dust ruffle, and other nursery things. The walls are a pale buttery yellow and the furniture is cherry. I have even made a nightlight and lamp to match the froggies. Sometimes I just like to sit in there, in Grandma’s old rocking chair and enjoy what a happy room it is shaping up to be.
